Black-Owned Ice Cream Brands You Should Try

I woke up this morning thinking about ice cream.

Yes, I know summer is over and yes I know it’s borderline winter weather in Texas, but so what? Is it honestly ever too cold or a bad time to indulge in ice cream? If you said yes, you should be ashamed.

Ice cream is one of my guilty pleasures and is my favorite ‘time of the month’ passion. Even in those moments when mother nature isn’t ruining my week, I still find myself craving for a sweet, creamy, cool bowl of vanilla bean, strawberry, or cookies and cream ice cream.

Some of the best ice cream that I’ve ever had is Black-owned, and is located in in Houston, TX. Cookies and cream is normally my go-to ice cream, and when I had it at Hank’s Ice Cream in Houston, I knew that there was a God, and that His blessings sometimes come in the sweetest packages (or ice cream cones).

Since I do not live in Houston, I cannot indulge in Hank’s Ice Cream, but I can reminisce on my experience there. Hank’s is just one of the many ice cream brands that is not only delicious AF, but it is Black-owned. Listed below, I share the top, Black-owned ice cream brand that I have tried (and am dying to try).

If you know of any other Black-owned ice cream shops, share them below in the comments section. While there are many ice cream brands out there, it is seldom to run across one that is Black-owned.
